Choosing a pendant for a child
The right pendant for a child is small, light, and on a chain that fits the child — not a scaled-down adult chain. We size kids’ pendants between 0.5g and 4g of gold, on chains between 12 and 16 inches with adjustable links. The chain clasp is recessed and locked so it can’t open under play, and the pendant bail is closed-jump (not split) so the pendant can’t slip off the chain.

Daily wear vs ceremonial pendants

For daily wear, choose a small (1–2g) pendant on a 14K gold chain — it’s harder, won’t kink, and survives school and play. For ceremonies, choose 18K (richer colour) at slightly higher weight, optionally with a small stone or enamel detail. Many families buy one of each.
